Pre-ruin Projections

There has been an increasing affinity for older photographic mediums, owing to the retro culture that we find ourselves in. In a series of photographs, I have explored my family's single-screen theatre, a place that situates itself and functions in a digital world, but still has an aura that lingers in the past.

One of the most striking elements in the theatre are its hand painted signs, which are touched up as and when they fade. I borrowed this element to pose as a metaphor for the near-obsolete space. Unlike the signs within it, the theatre cannot be repainted. It's obsolescence is inevitable.
